hello dennis....dont know if this will work?? have posted message on parish chest, about betsy jeffery. her father edwin was the brother of my 3x gt grandmother elizabeth jeffery. have done some work on the jefferys if you are interested. my email is connie.jane@hotmail.co.uk

no dennis.....took me the longest time to find my g g g grandpa thomas.......family legend his mother , poor servant girl who got pregnant by son of 'the big house'.....my great gran swore til the day she died that 'we had blue blood in our veins!'

she had two! illegitemate children baptised holy trinity, hagg
thomas frederick jeffery b 1855 and lucy jane jeffery b 1858
in 1861 both of her children are in hagg with their grandpa thomas jeffery and his unmarried daughter, lucy ann.....while elizabeth has swanned off and married james todd and is having todd children.
thomas jeffery died in 1866.........unmarried lucy ann goes to her married sister, elizabeth todd....and elizabeths illegitemate children use the name todd,,,,,,until they marry.....both marry as jefferys......and poor little no blue blood thomas frederick sticks to jeffery and all his twelve children (inc my great gran lucy ann jeffery) are jefferys!!!
CONFUSED??? nearly made my hair fall out.....finding it all out! but it is all there on my tree....all the facts and records and info. and by the by.....the thomas jeffery grandson in the todd household is thomas frederick jefferys first son, thomas walls jeffery. he rather foolishly went off to the first world war, at rather an old age for it! and got killed in malta. the details of that are on my tree too........even more confused!!!! shout if you want explanations!

ps dennis.....elizabeth jeffery with her illegitimate children and her legitimate todd ones is the sister of your edwin jeffery, the father of betsy jeffery who married jonathan atkin.
